Informações Gerais:
Widespread but patchily distributed in the mountains of New Caledonia at middle elevation (400-1000 m), where it is found exclusively in primary rain forest. In north-eastern and central New Caledonia, this species is restricted to schistose rocks, while in the south of the island, it occurs on ultrabasic rocks. This species tends to be gregarious where it grows, and reaches or exceeds the forest canopy.
